Maintenance & Care

Proper maintenance and care of saunas and sauna heaters are crucial for ensuring their longevity and providing you with the best possible sauna experience.

Don’t worry. This doesn’t mean you need a 125-point pre-flight checklist every time you use your sauna. Instead, it’s about following regular do’s and don’ts to keep your sauna in top condition while you enjoy your quality time.

Sauna Do's and Don'ts

Wash the benches after sauna session.

Clean the benches after each use with mild soap and water to remove body oils and sweat, ensuring hygiene and extending the life of the wood.

Use natural scents.

Introduce natural aromas using incense or essential oils such as cedar, birch, or lavender to create a calming and authentic sauna atmosphere.

Dry sauna after use.

After each session, leave the sauna door open to allow it to dry out completely, preventing mold and maintaining wood quality.

Embrace the tradition and start whisking!

Embrace the traditional sauna rituals, such as gentle whisking with a 'vasta' (bundled birch or oak twigs) to stimulate the skin and improve circulation.

Do not overheat!

Avoid setting the temperature too high; the ideal range is between 70°C and 90°C. Always follow manufacturer rules about maximum temperature.

Don’t neglect post-session care.

After using the sauna, ensure it is left clean and aired out to prevent moisture buildup and to maintain a fresh environment for the next use.

Do not rush the experience!

Sauna is made to enjoy! Take your time, allow your body to heat slowly and deeply after which take your time to cool off and spend quality time with friends or family. Going to sauna is centuries old tradition and the bridge of connection between generations.
